Maryetta Jackson resided in Eldred Pennsylvania for most of her married life. Physically small, she had an over sized heart for helping others. She was a mother to not only her children, but to several foster children throughout the years. She was always there to pray for anyone in need and to particularly support those who chose to follow God's calling into the ministry. There are adults in the Eldred Area who say she was the one to give them their first Bible. She was a shining example of how to live in this world as a devoted Christian.
Maryetta entered heaven at the age of 85 on March 15, 2009 surrounded by her husband of 65 years, Frank, and all of her children, at home as she wished. Maryetta's Mission was established in her memory to carry on the work of her life. It is funded through donations and fundraisers. To date we have supported about fifteen students with approximately $18,000. We have two funds with which we fund scholarships with. One that is managed by the Maryetta's Mission Committee and another that is professionally managed with a longer term goal of being able to provide financial support for many years into the future. Both are providing annual awards at this time.
